Publishing in Latin America Today

June 20, 2013

From Chile to Honduras, from Colombia to Mexico, from Brazil to Costa Rica, Cuba and other countries, Latin America is a region where publishing is experiencing a significant development. Average increases of 9% in the number of titles published across the region and a 30% growth in ebooks being offered are only two signs of a landscape marked also for the still very low, although improving, numbers of readers. Today, in this series of podcasts produced in collaboration between CCC and CERLALC, we turn our attention to the publishing landscape in Latin American countries, with the aim of providing an overview of its main features and current challenges.

Now please listen as Victoriano Colodrón, Senior Director, Global Relations at CCC interviews Bernardo Jaramillo, the Head of the Book Production and Circulation Unit at CERLALC, the Regional Center for the Promotion of Books in Latin America and the Caribbean.
